How this site works
This site is part of the argument. A one-person practice can run on systems instead of chores, and the site is the first place I proved it to myself.
The words
Every page and post is a markdown file in a repository. Publishing is a commit. There is no CMS to log into and nothing to update on a Tuesday night.
The facts
Episode counts, article counts, audience size, the years, the client line, the speaking fee. All of it lives in one data file. Every page reads from it, so a fact changes in one place and the whole site agrees. The media kit has a machine-readable twin built from the same file.
The routine
Once a week an agent checks the numbers, looks for new places I’ve been published or interviewed, and stages anything new for me to confirm. If something changed, the site rebuilds. If nothing changed, nothing happens and nobody hears from it. I write the blog. The agent does the chores.
The stack
Astro, static output, deployed on Cloudflare Pages. One typeface, Newsreader. One accent color. Dark mode follows your system. No tracking scripts beyond the host’s own analytics. Every page has a markdown version for people and agents who’d rather read it plain; start at /llms.txt.
The cost
The domain renewal. Nothing else.
